Step by step

After the I-140 is approved and your priority date is near.

  1. 1
Pay the NVC fees and fill in the DS-260

Every applicant (worker, spouse and children) has an online DS-260 visa form. GVS helps you prepare it.

  2. 2
    Upload your documents to NVC

Passport, birth certificates (Bangla and English), marriage certificate, police certificates and other civil documents.

  3. 3
NVC reviews the documents Now: reviewing documents submitted on August 18, 2026 (as of October 26, 2026)

If something is missing NVC asks for it, and the review starts again, so complete documents save weeks.

  4. 4
    Interview letter

When your date is current and the case is complete, NVC and the embassy schedule the interview and send the appointment letter.

  5. 5
    Medical examination

With an embassy-approved panel physician, well before the interview (the embassy asks for about three weeks). Bring your passport and appointment letter.

  6. 6
    Two days at the embassy

Since 1 June 2026 the Dhaka immigrant visa process takes two days with two required visits. Bring originals and photocopies of every document.

  7. 7
    Passport return

Register with the embassy’s passport return service and choose a pick-up point in Dhaka, Chittagong or Sylhet.
