At a glance

  • The longest part is the Visa Bulletin line: about 1.9 years.

  • The Department of Labor is now reviewing PERM cases filed in January 2026; USCIS takes about 11.2 months for an I-140.

  • The Visa Bulletin wait cannot be bought faster with any fee — it moves only when the State Department moves the date.

Each step and where the number comes from

The main date is the middle estimate; the range in brackets uses the fastest and slowest recent speed.

  1. 1
    1 · PERMNovember 2023 (September 2023 – January 2024) probably done

DOL has already passed your filing month, so the decision most likely came about 303 days (the current DOL average) after filing.

  2. 2
    2 · I-140November 2024 (May 2024 – January 2025) probably done

About 1 month to prepare and file, then the USCIS median I-140 processing time: 11.2 months (FY2025 Q3); range 7.5–11.2 months over the last four quarters. Premium processing can shorten this step.

  3. 3
    3 · Visa BulletinNovember 2026 (November 2026 – November 2026) probably done

Your priority date is already current in the November 2026 Visa Bulletin.

  4. 4
    4 · NVC & interviewJanuary 2027 (January 2027 – January 2027)

When your date is current and the I-140 is approved, NVC reviews your documents. As of October 26, 2026 NVC was reviewing documents submitted on August 18, 2026.

  5. 5
    5 · Interview & visa

After NVC, the embassy schedules the interview (Dhaka, or the embassy assigned to your case). Embassies do not publish this waiting time, so it is not added to the estimate. The Dhaka process takes two days with two visits.

This is an estimate from public data, not a promise. Audits, RFIs, retrogression of the Visa Bulletin, embassy schedules and policy changes (like the 2026 visa pause) can change every date.
